Tapestry
It was called Aspen Silhouette,
and I put it on my wall a week after my marriage failed.
It came with wiring for easy hanging
and the advertisement on the website
ended with such a strange saying,
Exclusively Yours
In death, there is a belief that
you are comfortable with haunting,
there is a dream that allows itself to be caught.
There is a wind that sighs and falls asleep.
And there is an Aspen
that grows no more leaves
and stands still
until someone finds it and cuts it down.
Even then,
there is some mark
a stump,
a change in the land, something
that marks a great presence.
